Kamik Women's Park Winter BootBlack9 M

I needed a functional affordable boot5

and this boot couldn't be better. I needed a lot of criteria met as I've tried Uggs Sorels Northface Baffin and Ulu and none cut it as well as these.

They are sturdy (good ankle support for trekking around or winter hiking - unlike the soft sided puffy boots many companies make). They are lightweight - feet don't get tired dragging a heavy boot around. They are adjustable - great lace up the whole front. They actually have a nice appearance and can pass as a boot to where everywhere if needed (they do look cute on). They have a thermal insulation of -25F (plenty for my use). They actually have nice functional lugs and grooves on the sole for grip (unlike Ulu and many other brands). They're not too tall off the ground - they feel grounded and balanced but the sole is still thick and warm. They are fully waterproof not just water resistant like most boots out there. Love the rubber lining around the edges for further protection from water bumping the toes and general scuffing. Two great colors to choose from. Pants can be tucked in or put over.

I wore these the other day in the mountains nearby and it was 2 feet of snow and 20 degrees out and these little boots were just perfect. They gripped well weren't stiff were warm stayed dry. Planning on using them for many hikes and snowshoeing and walks outdoors shoveling etc! I am thrilled about the price ($68 - black friday) ...and absolutely thrilled they perform so well and don't feel stiff flimsy or heavy.

The ankle area is a bit roomy as others have noted but I'd assume most boots you slip in and out of have this as a drawback. I didn't notice it at all when I was out wearing them - so I wouldn't even say its a problem (I wore a liner sock and a thick wool snow sock). Also the sizing - we warned these do indeed run small - be sure to order a size up. I can squeeze into an 8 or 8.5 9 is my biggest size - these I needed a 10. My toes were crunched at the end in the 9 (never experienced that with a 9 before). So these are my first shoes I've ever owned that are almost 2 sizes up. If I could change anything I'd make them maybe an inch or 2 higher for deeper snow but I didn't have a problem with snow getting down into them in the deep snow I tried them in since you can get the laces real snug and the tongue is attached to the boot (unlike some brands) so snow doesn't sneak in.

Overall these are the boots I've been looking for but haven't found until now! Proof you don't have to foot a ridiculous $300 bill for quality functionality and even a cute design that doesn't look cheap or trendy. More detail ...

Helly Hansen Women's Arctic Boots Equipe Black 6

Snow **STOMPERS** Deluxe5

These Helly Hanson boots are by far some of the best snow/after ski boots I've ever owned. I love UGGS (Classics) for their warmth and have quite a few pairs but obviously you don't want to wear them in the snow and slush or they'll ruin quickly...dry weather only boots. The Equipe Snow Boot has a very thick sole to distance your foot from the cold ground requiring only a thin sock (or no sock!) for warmth. The shank of the boot has plenty of room to tuck jeans in to and the entire boot is super insulated for lots of heat...you won't be disappointed!!More detail ...

Snow boots5

I have a pair in black and a pair in brown. The zipper on the right boot (in brown) is resistant and requires some upper body strength to close but other than that I love these boots. They are warm and comfortable. We have a lot of snow in central Iowa so I wear them frequently. Highly recommend!More detail ...

Warm and Trendy5

I ordered these boots in brown in a size 8. I ordered a half size bigger to accomodate thick socks but I could have gotten away with my normal size (7.5). The boots are warm and comfortable. The only thing I noticed other than they run true to size is that if you have a high instep like me it'll take a few days to break in the boots so they don't put pressure on your instep. I wore them for 3 hours twice so far and they seem to have stretched a little and aren't as tight around my instep as they were when I first put them on. Overall GREAT boots that'll be wonderful for my upcoming snowboarding trip to Killington VT.More detail ...

BUYER BEWARE1

I purchased a pair of Bugaboo boots for $80.00 a few years back and initially found them to be a satisfactory pair of boots. Then last winter a friend's pair started to crack around the top. Unfortunately not one month later mine did the same. The entire rubber portion around the top cracked wide open and the boots are now completely useless. Columbia has done nothing to restore my faith in their products and I've since switched to more reliable brands. The boots apparently only have a 1 year warranty which seems ridiculous considering I paid over $80.00 and they're worn for only a portion of the year. BUY ANOTHER BRAND! More detail ...

Very warm and comfy4

I wanted some warm boots that had more support and style then Ugg boots (which I detest). These are very comfy and have good support. I can take these hiking or to the mountains after a day of snowboarding. It has enough fur trim to be cute but not too much to be obnoxious. They only thing is that the sizes run big. I am a 6.5 but they are a 1/2 size too big. I would recommend ordering a 1/2 size down.More detail ...

Warm and Keeps your feet dry4

I work in Chicago and live in the suburbs. Therefore I take the train and walk about a mile to work everyday. I needed something that was warm and kept my feet dry. These definitely do the trick.

The Pros:

rated for -25 degrees Farenheit

water proof

Actually cute looking boots a lot of winter boots are more function than form.

The price is actually decent because I can see getting a few winters out of these. At the very least 2-3.

Very Durable.

The con (which isn't even a bad one):

Takes a few wears to break in and get used to. They are a little stiff at first but not so stiff that you get blisters or they hurt your feet. They never hurt. It was just awkward walking in them the first 2-3 times while the waterproofed rubber broke in. I wear them every day and sometimes even forget to take them off.

They are pretty true to size although it doesn't seem that way when I first put them on. I am a size 10 and at first I thought they didn't fit right but once I wore them twice they fit my foot perfectly.

There is an arch support in the boot but it is not a very high one. If you require a high arch support you may want to purchase inserts.

If you need a boot that will keep your feet warm and dry this is definitely a good buy.

Everyone's preferences are different. But personally I love these boots and plan on using them until they are in tatters. :)

Not good on ice3

The reviews said that these were stiff and I agree but you have to break them in a bit. Also the zipper doesn't stay up and I can't wear wool socks with these but I think they are very warm anyway. I wore them this morning and I was walking and I fell on the frosty sidewalk. They have no traction so I know i can't walk on anything but a clear sidewalk and snow. I am going to go ice my hip now :(More detail ...

Multi-Functional Boot5

This is a great multi-functional boot. I live in Seattle where it is typically more muddy than cold. When going up to the mountains I also need a pair boots that will work in the cold temperatures and heavy snow. These are the perfect pair for both. My feet stay perfectly warm in very cold conditions and never get wet even in heavy mud and water. Warm comfortable and stylish. Hard to find a pair of boots that look good and do the job. I also like the fact that you can easily wear them inside or out of your pantleg. I found these on Amazon for the amazing price of $65 with free shipping. Couldn't be happier with my purchase. Sorel Cumberland is fantastic5

I bought the Sorel Cumberland boots form Amazon just over a week ago. I live in New Zealand and spend as much time in the snow in winter as possible.

Firstly the delivery was fantastic. The boots went through 3 different countries before they got here and the whole process only took 5 days!

Secondly the boots look great and are incredibly warm and comfortable. I was a little worrried about getting the size correct but went to the Sorel website measured my feet and worked out from the sizing graph which size to get. The fit is perfect.

Thank you Amazon and Backcountry I am truly impressed with your speed and service.More detail ...

Very cute boots4

These boots are very cute - I always get compliments on them. A few things to note the fur lining is not throughout the boot there's some at the top (of course) none on the calf but then some for cushioning for your foot. Also although many people said they run big and you should buy a smaller size I'd have to disagree. I originally bought them a size smaller and ended up having to return them. I find them true to standard sizes.More detail ...

Bearpaw Women's M405 10" BootBlack9 M US

Great alternative to Uggs5

I just bought a pair of these 10" Dream 405 style from shoe pavilion today for $39.99. I think they are so great and comfortable! I tried on the 160 Uggs ultra short earlier in the day which looks almost the same and guess what? BearPaw Dream is even more comfortable than Uggs' ultra short since ultra short feels a little too tight. Uggs' classic short ($120) is still the most comfortable tho but its style which is more rounded and doesn't have a 2nd line around the edges is a little outta date.

These BearPaw Dreams serve as a great alternative to the new Uggs ultra short. Its shaft is a little taller than Uggs as well which I think is smart because then it looks better with pants tugged in.

Caution: if you wear 1/2 sizes go one size up. Don't expect these comfortable shoes to have bigger rooms inside. I used to wear 6 or 6.5.. but I have to return a pair and get a 7. More detail ...
